Some weeks I really have very little to say. I've been concentrating on writing and contracting work, and the idea of dropping some comments in this little log gets pushed to the burner that's behind the back burner.

The AOL - Time Warner merger scares the living bejeezus out of me. Can anyone out there give me a reason why media consolodation is a good thing for the average American citizen? To paraphrase Jimmy Tingle, eventually there's gonna be only one company, and they'll be running everything. You're late on a credit card payment, they'll tow your car.

Is your network flaky today? My network is flaky today.

Peter Gammons has started his baseball preview for the new season over at ESPN. I get a special fuzzy feeling when the sports pundits turn their attention to Ye Olde Sticke and Balle Game. This year, that special feeling is slightly tempered by the fact that the Red Sox could be the very best team in the division and the very worst team in the division all at the same time.

Ugh. Feeling like death does not help one produce content. I recommend avoiding this year's cold and flu season if you can help it.

I finally cleaned up this silly log, and plan on maintaining it a little better. One of those wacky "resolutions" I hear all the fashionable people talking about.

Getting back into DI production was hard, muchachos. Remember Newton's First Law of Motion: "An object in motion tends to stay in motion, and an object at rest tends to stay at rest...?" That's doubly true when the object in question is a disorganized, lazy sack of shite.

Happy Post-New Year, everyone! Here's hoping all your auld langs were syne.
